How to Change Battery in SecuRam BackLit Electronic Lock

Next, we're going to show you how to change the battery on the SafeLogic BackLit. If this battery was getting low and it didn't have enough voltage to power the lock, when you enter your code you'll hear warning beeps prompting you to change the battery. When you enter your code of 6-5-4-3-2-1, you'll hear two beeps indicating this is the correct code; but if the battery was low, then you'd hear a rapid eight beeps, and that would be the indication that your battery needs to be changed. So here's how you changed the battery.

The SafeLogic BackLit has something called SureLock Battery Management. It's a little compartment at the five o'clock position. I'll show you how that works.

  1. So, find the SureLock Battery Management's compartment at the bottom right at the five o'clock position of the entry pad. There's a small locking lever there.
  2. Grasp the locking lever and rotate it downwards.
  3. Now, use that as a handle and pull the compartment out of the entry pad. That houses your battery.
  4. So you'll find on the top of the compartment you have a large slot and a small slot that aligns with the large terminal and the small terminal. This allows you to only put the battery in one way. You can't put it in the wrong way. Get a new battery, and now install the new battery within the large slot and the small slot.
  5. Then simply place the compartment back into the entry pad, push up and lock down the lever.

Your batteries are now changed. Now that the batteries are changed, you can enter your combination of 6-5-4-3-2-1. You'll hear two beeps for the correct code, but you'll no longer hear the eight rapid beeps and you can go ahead and open your safe.
