How to Change Your Code in Securam backLit Electronic lock

This video is going to show you how to change the code from the default code of 1-2-3-4-5-6 to a unique code.

The first thing you want to do when you're doing any programming is to open the safe door. Go ahead and enter the default code of 1-2-3-4-5-6. You'll hear two beeps. Open the door and now we can go ahead and do the rest of our programming.

Now with the door open, we're going to change the code of 1-2-3-4-5-6 to a unique code. Here's how you do that.

  1. First, enter the change code which is six zeros (0-0-0-0-0-0).
  2. Then enter the existing default user code: 1-2-3-4-5-6.
  3. Now enter the new unique code. We'll put in 6-5-4-3-2-1 and then repeat that new unique code: 6-5-4-3-2-1.
  4. That code has now been changed from 1-2-3-4-5-6, to the new code of 6-5-4-3-2-1. Let's go ahead and test that code: 6-5-4-3-2-1. You'll hear two beeps that indicate that's the correct code and the lock is open.

Difference in Beep Patterns When a Wrong Code is Entered

Now I'm going to show you the difference between the beep patterns when the wrong code is entered versus the correct code.

When we enter the correct code of 6-5-4-3-2-1, you'll hear a beep for each number that we enter and then beep beep to say it's the correct code and the lock will open.

If we were to enter an incorrect code, you'd hear a different beat pattern. So let's enter a code that's incorrect. Let's just enter a 2-5-7-6-8-7. You hear that beep beep beep. That three beeps indicates that's an incorrect code.

Now that the default user code has been changed from its default of 1-2-3-4-5-6 to a unique code you can go ahead and close the door and turn the handle.
